Domains

A domain is the URL or web address where your customers go to find your store online. By default, your online store was given a fastcommerce.com URL when you signed up for FastCommerce. To personalize the web address that your customers see when they visit your online store, you must use a custom domain, such as www.storename.com. You can buy domains from FastCommerce or any other domain provider. Using a domain that is relevant to your brand can help you build trust in your online store.

Once you have added a domain to FastCommerce, you can manage your online store's domain settings from the Domains page.

  • You can add a domain to FastCommerce in the following ways:
  • Get a domain: Buy a domain through FastCommerce and have it automatically connected to your store. 
  • Connect a domain: Use a domain you own from a third party like GoDaddy and Google Domain

Get a domain

To buy a domain through FastCommerce, follow these steps:

  1. From your FastCommerce admin, go to Settings > Domains.
  2. Click Get a domain.
  3. Enter the domain name you want and search for its availability.
  4. Add your desired domain to the shopping cart by clicking on the shopping cart icon on the right of the domain name.
  5. Click the shopping cart on the top right corner.
  6. View your order on the shopping cart page and click Checkout.
  7. Add your payment method and click Submit.

Connect a domain

To connect a domain to your store, follow these steps:

  1. From your FastCommerce admin, go to Settings > Domains.
  2. Click Connect a domain.
  3. Enter the domain name you would like to use with your store, and click Next.
  4. Follow the instructions on the connect a domain page, and click Verify connection.
